[ I didn't see you had an application up. So sorry, but I already wrote this all out, so I figured I would try. Thanks. ]
Character Name: The Joker
Sex: Male
Age: 36
Occupation: Bringing laughter to the people of Gotham.
Allegiance: Anarchy
Physical Description: Without the make-up or the hair tinted, Joker could almost pass for the average man. His hair is blonde, albeit unkempt, oily and curly, and of a slight muscular build. Still without the garb, his eyes tell a story of insanity beyond normal comprehension. They are very focused at all times, staring deeply into the person he is conversing with or even just staring at. And then there are the scars; in the corners of his mouth and up are visible scars that show an attempt at creating a smile. The permanent smile on his face is extenuated with the dirty make up. The red covers his lips up and into the scars for the smile affect, his face is painted the traditional white and his eyes are heavy set in by black. The hair is tinted a dingy green and his clothes were tailored to his body by a (sadly) now departed tailor. Green and purple, the prominent colors of his clothes, finish off the clownish features. His tongue is loose and licks his lips often, but not because of chapped lips; it just happens. Always slightly hunched, he starves himself of an extra inch in height, but it hardly seems to bother him.
Personality: The ideals of anarchy have completely consumed the personality of this individual. He lives for the thrill, like an adrenaline junkie with a taste for pain and death. His mind, before meeting Batman, was like a wandering army. He moved where he pleased and destroyed those in his path, always executing plans with a hint of genius (giving hope to a some that there is a stable mind deep within him; ha). However, the importance between simply killing and killing towards a goal must always be distinguished with the Joker. He does not just kill. That is a petty criminal on the street who kills just for money, or jewelry. He, unlike they, values life for what it means to others but has no value in it for himself. If killing a bus full of people will cause panic, he will do it. If killing one person will send someone’s mind into insanity with him, he will do it. As long as it gives him a good laugh.
However, Joker’s constant flow of anarchy and rampage has seemingly come to a halt as he is now obsessed with the Bat. See, this Bat figure represents all that he strives to bring down and show that anyone is corruptible. Anyone is capable of living and breathing anarchy when their world is destroyed and Bats has one golden rule even the Joker failed to force him to break. Given time to stew over this, Joker now cannot stop thinking of ways to destroy Batman’s mind. He has no further interest in the man’s identity and no intention of leaving Gotham until he fulfills his obsession. When Joker is no more at the hand of Batman, the Joker has won.
History: He was born unknown to world by a poor mother in the house shared with two other families. Unable to afford a trip to the hospital, like the stillborns before her, she remained in the bed while this boy arrived. With no birth certificate, no record of his existence, he grew up with a mother surprised he survived and, in consequence, unwanted. There can be no way of knowing entirely, but his memories of her from when he was six make him belief she was a prostitute. By six, he was kicked out of the house for harm to the other children in the apartment. He had conducted experiments while bored to see how much pain his semi-siblings could endure. The results were slim. He was placed at the door of an orphanage, where he stayed for a period of a few months before the attendants realized he was a strange little boy. There, he became isolated from the others purposefully and expected to eat later than the rest. Uninterested in the social aspect, the kid (whose name was changed in the Orphanage when he didn’t give one) studied alone in his room often. By 14, he was considered smarter than the average kid but disturbed. When he figured out there were plan to send him to a local asylum for evaluation, he fled.
The years between 14 and 20 are hazy, even for the Joker himself. It was a lot of petty stealing to eat, moving from building to building, city to city and finding ways to express his desire for difference. He hated the controlled atmosphere of the orphanage and had long preferred the chaotic nature of his original home. He did on and off jobs for local gangs and mobs, changing his name everywhere he went and constantly evading the police by leaving town. He was good at his job through years of practice and his job was quite undefined. He could pull off almost any theft, help rob a bank, anything that was asked of him. But it was boring. By twenty, he was working for a mob that controlled a circus; it was an odd choice, at first, when he realized they smuggled through the animal cages and sometimes fed the animals balloons filled with drugs. It is entirely possible this is where the idea of the clown was born, but that will never leave his lips. From twenty, he suffered a mental collapse set off by many different stories. The age changes, the person changes, the tag line changes, but it is for certain that the scars arrived on his face at age 22 and they put him over the edge.
He developed a maniacal laughter that bothered even those that knew him well at the time. He changed his name again, preferring the Joker over any other he had picked before. Stealing make up from stores, he began playing around with different looks (though the red lip stick smeared onto the scars always remained the same) until he found perfection. He began with small things, like torturing the mob he was working for from the inside out. He understood their ways of order and loathing the strictness of their rules, he destroyed them from within. The local police department was only happy to see the mobster family die one by one and asked no questions. He moved on to better things, fixing his manner of doing things each time and taking awful pleasure in the fall of man. Each and every person fell to his hand and plan, and when the police began linking each event with a carefully placed card, he moved on.
As he sees it, Gotham chose him. A city plagued with corruption, the local and predictable mobsters, and then created two heroes to save them in what they thought was the dark abyss. Harvey is now gone in the world of heroes and saviors. Haha. Only Batman was left and Jokers vows that Gotham will watch its Dark Knight kill when he is through.
